Everyone needs a fresh start, we all get tired of the routine but sometimes instead of just setting it aside for a while or quitting all together, we just need to recommit. No I'm not talking about a relationship, although this isn't bad advice for that either, but what I'm talking about is recommitting to my healthy lifestyle change.
While cleaning the garage this weekend I found my old weight watchers weight tracker. I was afraid to look at it because I didn't want to know how much I had gained since I had quit, but I bit the bullet and I was really glad I did. I saw that I was 39 pounds less than I was when I started this time around and I saw that it took me 36 weeks to reach the 25 pound marker and this time it's gonna take me 16 weeks. I realize it may be coming off faster because I'm heavier but I would like to think that my efforts are doubled this time around.
Seeing the old weight tracker made me realize how much better the plan is and also how much better I'm doing on it this time. I'm more determined, I'm older, and I'm not just doing it for myself but also for my little girl. I want her to see an example of a healthy woman.
Here's to recommitting!

Starting Over... Again!
Come Monday I always feel like I get a fresh start, especially when it comes to my healthy lifestyle change.
Sunday was weigh in day and I knew going in it wasn't going to be a good one, and sure enough it wasn't. I gained 1.2 pounds back, but I brushed it off and resolved to start again come Monday.
The reason I did so poorly this week is because, to be completely honest, I didn't log a single thing, no food, didn't exercise, nothing, I was a lazy bag of bones last week and it didn't help that I had a sick little girl all week, but no excuses, it's time to get back on track.
So to keep myself accountable I will be sharing my food logs with you all, this not only will keep me logging all my food but it will keep me within my points allowance.
I'm not sure what I'm having for dinner yet but as soon as I do, I'll let you know!

Weight Watchers Update
19.4 pounds - hold two 10 pound bags of potatoes and that's pretty much how much weight I've lost. When you feel how heavy those are, can you imagine carrying those around day in and down out, well apparently that's what my body has been doing for years. Yes, I still need to lose a lot more potatoes... uh pounds but this first 20 is a real eye opener.
I think this first 20 which I will officially hit... HOPEFULLY on Sunday, has really set in place my healthy lifestyle change. Yes it can still be hard but it's not as hard as those first few weeks of change. Now I know what my triggers are, now I know what food works for me and what doesn't, now I know what to do to stay on track and now I have the tools to do so. Everyday I have to be aware of what I'm eating, everyday I need to be accountable, everyday I need to remind myself that this is not a short term fix, this is for life.
So for all those on a healthy lifestyle journey (Diet is a dirty word on this blog) stay strong and remember everyday we get to start all over. We get to set new goals and we get to improve our lives just one spoonful and one pound at a time.

Dear Weight Watchers,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my lifestyle change a reality this time around. Thank you for creating a program that actually works. I'm not starving, I can almost eat anything I want depending on portion size, and the best part is that I can eat as many fruits and vegetables I need to stay satisfied.
So far I have lost a total of 12.6 pounds in less than a month. I started WW on March 13th, 2011 and come weigh in day on Sunday April 10th, 2011 I hope and pray I will lose another 2.4 pounds to round out my first month on WW with a grand total of 15 pounds lost. I will actually take any loss great or small but 2.4 is my magic number.
Thank you again WW for helping me change my life.
Dear Weight Watchers Members,
We can do this! Don't lose sight of your goals, don't consider this lifestyle change a DIEt (first three letters) because we're finally LIVING, we've finally found something doable, something long term, something fantastical. If you're on WW and you need a little motivation buddy up, find another lifestyle changer just like you and the possibilities are endless.
